Well, we just made it back to OH this afternoon. Although we had a great time, it feels good to be back. I am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed. The last few days of Cocoa were filled with golf, pool, beach and more sun. On Thursday, the fam split and everyone did there own thing. Gary went to Ft. Lauderdale to visit his friend, Kristin/Jason, the kids & Grandma went to Disney, Jarod and I played golf and Katie & Kari caught some sun.
Bailee was extremely excited to see us and Logan also seemed to miss Bailee. Time to unpack. I have a tee time at 3:00…
We arrived in Cocoa beach on Saturday afternoon after a long day of travel. Logan flew for the first time and did really well until the last 30 minutes of the flight as we waited for a gate to open. The hot Florida sun welcomed us with open arms with temperatures in the mid-90’s and very humid. All the family made it safely and we even got a swim in before dark.
Yesterday, we spent the morning walking the beach and visited the pier where the kids got to watch people surf and fish. After the girls returned from the grocery, we headed to the pool where Logan splashed away. He absolutely LOVES the pool. Kari, Logan and I headed to Ron Jon’s in the afternoon to get out of the sun for a bit before heading to Olive Garden for dinner with the fam.
This morning we got up early and watched the sun rise. We got a lot of great pictures and Logan learned a little about this stuff called sand. After Logan wakes up from his nap, we plan to head out to the beach so he can play a bit.
Cheers!
Here are a few pics from Dad’s retirement party. I had more, but lost some in a hard drive crash before they were backed up…bummer.
Here’s a short video of Dad walking into his surprise retirement party. Mom had him run a few errands with Scott and everyone showed up while he was gone. Mom even had all of the cars “hidden” at various neighbor’s homes. I think he had a feeling a party was in the works, but he had no clue when it was going to happen. Happy retirement Dad!!!
This weekend we celebrated Dad’s retirement by throwing a surprise party for him. Near the end of the party we all got to witness an amazing milestone, which was Logan crawling after a new ball Aunt Lulu got him. It was such a surreal experience and we were so happy to share this moment with our family.
